Minehead Hockey donates to Local Charity

Minehead & West Somerset Men's Hockey Club recently donated £500 to local charity Elliott’s Touch, a charitable fund setup by long-standing Minehead player Paul Stevens and his wife Donna in conjunction with the Somerset Community Foundation.

Elliott’s Touch was setup in June of this year by Donna and Paul in memory of their young son Elliot, who tragically died of cardiomyopathy in March 2015. Their aim is to raise awareness of mitochondria disease and cardiomyopathy, and the fund will support organisations that are working on new cures of the disease.

The club will be wearing the Elliott’s touch logo on their playing shirts for this coming season as well as that of new main sponsor “Inspired Partnership Limited”, a leading Design & Surveying Consultancy based in Taunton.

Minehead chairman Nick Bennett said “As a club, we are honoured to support Elliott’s Touch and are proud of the hard work and dedication displayed by club member Paul and his wife Donna. What they have already achieved in such a short space of time is truly remarkable. I would also like to thank our new sponsor  “Inspired Partnership Ltd” who have kindly arranged for the printing of the club shirts to carry the Elliott’s Touch logo”.

Minehead & West Somerset Men’s Hockey Club operates 3 teams of mixed ability who all play in the GoCrea8 Hockey League, operating from September to March.
