Minehead hosted Taunton Vale as storm Dennis arrived with its contribution to the game of heavy rain and strong gusts of wind. Minehead started with Dennis helping as the ball travelled down the pitch with assistance giving Minehead early chances and after 3 or 4 good attempts Minehead marked the score sheet first thanks to a goal from Paul Jones.

Vale then countered quickly but thanks to saves from keeper Ryan Jones it took a while for them to equalise. But with some good passing they managed to break our defence and the first half finished 1-1.

With the wind now blowing us back a change in tactics saw us using the ball well with good short passing to set up our second goal slapped home by Dylan Howell, after a Minehead penalty corner found a Vale foot directly in front of the goal. Captain Ryan Dean scored the penalty flick and Minehead found themselves 3-1 up.

Vale's pressure continued and they found the back of our net closing the gap to 1 goal but thanks again to the hard work from all the Minehead players we pressed again and this time Freddie Wilson found the back of the net. Vale managed one more goal but as the time ran out the score finished 4-3 with Minehead B picking up 3 valuable points with 5 games left.

A great effort from everyone who played in some awful conditions with a standout performance from our Man of the Match Jack Bishop. And lastly a big thank you to the umpires from enduring the conditions without whom we wouldn't have been able to play.
